Camp Lakodia is located on the shores of beautiful Lake Herman, which has some of the finest fishing waters in North
America. Fishing season is year-round and some popular fish include perch, walleye, bluegill, bass and pike. Just
bring your pole and bait, and enjoy the early morning waters or afternoon sun.
Swimming
With a total size of 1,350 acres, Lake Herman allows for a wide variety of water sports. Swimming in the pristine blue
waters is an experience like no other. We also have an enclosed area on Camp Lakodia's shores so children can enjoy
water activities safely.
Canoeing
Canoeing is included in your stay at Camp Lakodia so seize the opportunity to explore the vast shoreline of Lake Herman.
Bring a friend and wade through the waters exploring the natural habitat unique to the Glacial Lakes region. Along with
the many unbelievable views to be seen, you can fish for a night's seafood feast at the Dining Hall.
Kayaking
Kayaking is included in your stay at Camp Lakodia, so for the independent and adventurous soul, take a trip through
the waters and explore. The placid Lake Herman will ensure that kayaking will be an enjoyable experience for all ages.
Paddle Boating
Paddle boating is included in your stay at Camp Lakodia, and is suitable for groups of two people. Paddle boating is
a lot like riding a bike, so the experience can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
Horseshoe
Horseshoe is a game of a little bit of luck-little bit strategy enjoyable for people of all ages. The horseshoe
area is located around cabins for your convenience. You can set-up your own horseshoe tossing competitions and
tournaments, or just play for fun.
Biking
Camp Lakodia is situated in the South Dakota wilderness, and Lake Herman State park just across the lake offers many
different trails and terrain for any skill level from the beginner to the expert cycler. Information about biking in
